Before I share 'my story', I'd like to share a little bit of my background, which will help you understand why I was so willing to share about my family's issues and needs. I was in the Insurance Industry for 49 years and was verycareful regarding whom I would recommend, if asked by one of my clients, as it way also my reputation that was 'on the line'.
I am a Great-grandmother of a 10 y.o. who lives 900 miles away. During this 5th grade school year, her Reading grade plummeted from an A down to a D-, within a single semester. Otherwise, she had been an A-B student from the beginning of Elementary School. During a Bible Study, I had asked for prayer for her (as her parents were convinced, with no professional intervention, that she had ADHD and proceeded to 'hound' this into her :( Consequently, she immediately went from loving school to dreading attending). After our Bible Study, one of the ladies told me about her friend who worked with both children & adults with reading challenges. I reached out to Krisann and she immediately took an interest in our 'little family' :) She had me arrange to have my great-grand read, while being videoed, along with sending her a photo of what she had read. Within days, after I sent this onto her, she reached back out to me to assure me there were no 'ADHD' issues involved (explaining that if that were the case, she would not have carried straight A's & B's from Kindergarten on) and what Krisann picked up on immediately is that my great-grand actually was reading 'too quickly', thus her brain was not able to keep up with her eyes which explained why she could not comprehend what she had just read! Krisann then gave some practical advise/suggestions as to what to have my great-grand do, and after advising my family and them putting these suggestions into practice, within 3 weeks my great-grand's midterm Reading grade when from a D- to a B- and the joy of attending school has re-captured her heart :) :) :) I could go on and on here, but suffice it to say that without Krisann's willingness to become involved in this 'rather dysfunctional family', the eventual outcome would have been drastically different. Krisann regularly asks about my great-grand when we communicate, and prays for her as well :) The passion, love (for those she has never met, and probably never will!!), care and desire to help others, that pours out of Krisann, is a testimony as to how she uses and shares her God given gifts with those whom she can help :) I am eternally grateful for her heart and willingness to take the time to invest in my family, after a single conversation!!
